@bessahghana: Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Meets Mother of Slain Javits Frimpong, Assures Her of Government's Support The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, James Gyakye Quayson, on Monday, November 2, received Madam Doris Adu Gyamfi, mother of the late Javits Badu Nkansah Frimpong, the 15-year-old Ghanaian national who tragically lost his life in a shooting incident in the Bronx, New York. The meeting provided an opportunity for the Deputy Minister to convey the Government of Ghana's deepest condolences to the bereaved mother and family and to reaffirm Government's commitment to providing the necessary support during this difficult period. Mr. Gyakye Quayson reiterated the Ministry's commitment to working through Ghana's diplomatic mission in the United States to engage the relevant authorities and ensure that the circumstances surrounding Javits's death receive the necessary attention. He further assured Madam Gyamfi of the Government's continued support and solidarity as the family navigates this difficult time. Javits was attacked by unidentified men on his way to school on Thursday, October 29, in the Bronx, and was pronounced dead after being shot in the abdomen while walking to school. The Foreign Ministry has also announced that government will cover the full cost of Madam Adu Gyamfi's travel to the US to bid her son a final farewell, after an intervention facilitated by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and US President Donald Trump for an emergency visa.
