I understand the point you’re trying to make about reparations, and I agree that the historical injustices of slavery and colonialism should not simply be dismissed because they happened in the past. Their consequences can still be felt today. However, you’re comparing two different issues. Remembrance Day is about honouring those who lost their lives in war, not demanding compensation for historical injustice. Reparations concern historical responsibility, accountability and addressing lasting harm. Both involve remembering history, but they serve different purposes. We can acknowledge the legacy of slavery while also respecting those who sacrificed their lives. One does not invalidate the other.

It's not just White British Soldiers that are remembered, but everyone who died in any war, ever. The point that no one affected by WW1 is alive today, is a blatantly foolish take. No matter if an event happened 100, 200, 300, 1000, 2000, 3000 years ago, it affects the present. WW1 led into WW2, which led into the Cold War, which led into the modern day. We need to remember those who died so we don't make those same mistakes. It doesn't matter if you aren't White or British, History needs to be remembered, humans who died need to be honored in any way we cam honor them.
