@mu_12100: Before 50, the Prophet Muhammad lost his father, mother, grandfather, uncle, wife and two sons. Save this for hard days. His father Abdullah died before he was born. His mother Amina died at Abwa when he was 6. His grandfather Abdul Muttalib, who took him in, died when he was 8. His uncle Abu Talib protected him for over 40 years. Khadijah (radiyallahu anha), his wife of 25 years and the first person to believe in him, died in the same year. The seerah calls it the Year of Sorrow. Of his seven children, six were from Khadijah (radiyallahu anha). His sons Al-Qasim and Abdullah (radiyallahu anhuma) died as infants. Ruqayyah (radiyallahu anha) died while he was away at Badr. Zaynab and Umm Kulthum (radiyallahu anhuma) followed. His last son Ibrahim (radiyallahu anhu), born to Mariyah al-Qibtiyyah (radiyallahu anha), died before he turned two. Over him the Prophet said: "The eyes shed tears and the heart grieves, but we say only what pleases our Lord." (Sahih al-Bukhari 1303) Only Fatimah (radiyallahu anha) outlived him, and only by six months. Why is Khadijah (radiyallahu anha) the only wife on screen? Because she was his only wife for 25 years and the mother of six of his children. After her he married Sawdah, Aishah, Hafsah, Zaynab bint Khuzaymah, Umm Salamah, Zaynab bint Jahsh, Juwayriyah, Umm Habibah, Safiyyah and Maymunah (radiyallahu anhunna), the Mothers of the Believers. And Allah says of him: "And We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds." (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:107)
