@sustainableseedling: 🌿 Orchid bark is chunky pieces of tree bark, usually pine or fir, that you mix into your potting soil. 🪴 I use it for my tropical plants and houseplants like monsteras, philodendrons, pothos and of course orchids. 💨 The chunky pieces create air pockets, so the roots can breathe instead of sitting in dense, packed soil. 💧 It also gives you great drainage, so water flows through instead of pooling at the bottom of the pot. 🌱 Healthy roots need both oxygen and drainage, and that's how you help prevent root rot. 💡 Beginner tip: if your houseplant soil stays soggy for days after watering, mixing in orchid bark is an easy fix. 🛒 The orchid bark I use is linked in the orange cart. 👇 Do you mix your own houseplant soil, or use it straight from the bag? #orchidbark #houseplantsoil #aroidmix #planttips #insideplants
