@yxzqnn: There is a familiar heaviness that follows me, regardless of the hour, somewhere between the middle of my back and my chest, the unbearable feeling I thought I had buried found its way back to me. Tears began staining my cheeks. My eyes blurred until the colour blue of my prayer mat became nothing but a faded colour beneath me. I lowered my head, unable to stay focused. I felt ashamed, disgusted, empty, numb and exhausted. Perhaps all of them had found a place within me. I tried to recite my surahs, but my mouth remained still. I knew the words, I had known them for years, yet now I could not bring a single one forward. It was as though my exhausted soul whos got sick and tired, she took over my soul because she wnated to feel seen, all because I buried her under my dust of ignorance. She wanted a solution. She knew I couldn't forever ignore the pain as if it was going to be solved by it's own. She will come back and haunt me in a random day. Random evening. Random hour. There is a string somewhere in my heart, a string that carries everything I have never managed to put into words. It stretches across seas and countries, through places I have never seen, searching for a peace it cannot seem to reach. It could travel the entire world if only it had somewhere to rest. Yet I remain here, unable to follow it. Even the words of others have become difficult to carry. Every sentence feels like another brick falling against already towering walls. Every remark settles somewhere deep within me, where words were never meant to reach. Perhaps people speak without thinking, but I find myself carrying their sentences long after they have forgotten saying them. And there I was, looking down at the faded blue beneath my hands in sujood, with a heart full of things that have no names, a mind covered in fog and a string stretching towards a peace that always seems somewhere beyond reach. Perhaps the heart remembers everything the mind tries to leave behind. Perhaps that is why mine feels like an entire world that nobody has ever visited. Ya rabbi, alhamdulilah. #foryoupage#fyp#goviral#poem#
