@itskemikeysofficial: “At this point, I honestly think some of our leaders don’t take infrastructure planning seriously!” — Kemi Keys 🇬🇭 Because how do you construct a road, finish the pavement and make everything look good, only to return a few months later to break it all down because you now want to construct a drainage system? What was the plan in the first place? 🤦🏾‍♂️ I keep asking myself why we cannot think ahead as a country. Take the University of Ghana, Legon, for instance. Look at how infrastructure is planned. You hardly see exposed streetlight cables hanging around because the electrical cables are laid underground. The campus has a structured layout where different infrastructure systems complement one another. So, why can’t we apply that same thinking when developing our communities? For me, the issue is not simply about building roads, gutters or pavements. It is about planning before spending public funds. We cannot keep spending taxpayers’ money to construct, demolish and reconstruct what should have been properly coordinated from the beginning. Ghana deserves infrastructure that is built with foresight, not trial and error. Am I asking for too much? 👀 #thegenzshow #kemikeys #ghana #infrastructure #metrotv @thegenzshowstudios @The GenZ Show @Metro TV Ghana @Livingwithkeeks💋

He has a point but he started on a wrong foot and secondly he forgot that before any road is constructed there’s a CONTRACT and the jobs are done in phases…..now if any government is SERIOUS d will have valid n reasonable staff going round to ensure the right things are done before any payment is made NOW IT MAKES SENSE OR?

First of all, do you know why cables are layered underground? Do you know the when and where you can’t lay cables underground?

The reason why we have overhead power lines in Africa—and even in many parts of the US—comes down to basic economics: Lower Installation & Operating Costs: Overhead lines are significantly cheaper to build, run, and scale up than underground systems. Easier Fault Location: When a line goes down overhead, you can see the break immediately. Finding a fault underground takes specialized equipment to pinpoint the exact location beneath layers of dirt or asphalt. Faster Repairs: If an overhead wire snaps, a repair crew with a bucket truck can usually fix it within 3 to 4 hours. If an underground line tears, it requires heavy machinery, excavating roads, and extensive labor just to reach the damage. That is why governments choose overhead wires. Underground lines are far more expensive to install, maintain, and replace.

Saying UG doesn’t extend gutters and you feel that’s wisdom doesn’t make sense because those gutter measurements in Legon is wrong so what’s wise about it ?

I don’t agree to this. You need to research, read more and know the kind of words you choose when speaking. The layout system in UG and the layout system is Motown are two different layouts that doesn’t mean that the person who did UG is wiser or had common sense a lot of factors went into it the reason why UG was built that way and prolly Okponglo wasn’t built or wired that way.

Just because he is shouting, the Gen Z generation may mistake his confidence for intelligence and assume he is making sense. We are still a developing country, and our priorities should reflect the realities of our development. I have lived through four decades, and I have hardly seen any major road construction project undertaken without the provision of proper drainage systems and gutters.
