In states where there is no car tax, they make up the revenue in other places - higher registration fees, higher income taxes, etc. I’m all for eliminating personal property taxes but how will the lost revenue be made up?

moved to VA from Ohio... never heard of personal property taxes on vehicles before... we are moving back in 1 week after being here for a year. its too expensive here

I am fairly certain that it is not just the governor, but every government official, who is in favor of maintaining the tax. After all, who else would pay for the lavish administrative headcount and other nonsense?

The county I live in sent them out on 10/19 with a due date of 11/5. Enough people complained that they gave an extension to 11/20 but it was still ridiculous to give people less then a month to pay.
