@mosheh: President Trump says he’ll become “Mr. Veto” if Democrats take control of Congress in Tuesday’s midterm elections. “If we didn’t win, I veto everything. I’ll be vetoing, vetoing,” Trump told the New York Post’s Pod Force One in a Friday interview. “I guess I’ll become Mr. Veto.” Trump said he eventually expects the two sides would “probably make deals." Trump has offered American adults $5,000 if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate, though the plan doesn't have major support in either party. During Trump's first midterm elections in 2018, as president, Republicans lost a net 41 seats in the U.S. House, but kept control of the Senate. Democrats, who currently hold 214 seats in the House, could win as many as 240 seats, according to the final race ratings by the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. Republicans currently have 218 seats. Democrats are also cautiously optimistic to win the 4 seats necessary to win a Senate majority. The president also said he would pardon family members, White House aides and Elon Musk if they faced investigations under a Democratic-controlled Congress. Trump also acknowledged that the Constitution’s two-term limit is “very exacting.” Instead, he praised Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as a potential future Republican ticket.
