Italy didn’t simply switch sides during WWII. In 1943, Mussolini was removed from power, and the new government signed an armistice with the Allies to end the war. Germany then occupied much of Italy and restored Mussolini as the leader of a puppet state in the north. Italy was divided: some Italians fought alongside the Allies, others continued fighting with Nazi Germany, and many joined the Resistance. So it wasn’t the whole country changing sides overnight, but a nation split by political collapse, occupation, and civil war.

I mean even Nazis changed sides during the WW2. Originally they invade Poland side to side with Russia in 1939, but then in 1941 they said "fuck it, let's try to invade Russia too"... And they lost 🙈

Mario, I really like you, but if you're neglect who was ruling Italy and Germany at that time and implying than stop fighting nazi Germany was a negative thing,you have got a bit of problems on denial on the fact the german population and elite stick to Hitler until the very end and very litte antinazist movement inside the country. despite the denazification process, many Germans tend not to remember that part and still blame italians to lose the wwii . henrich boll illustrated it several times...
