@apostledannyofficial: REST IN PEACE: Matric learner stabbed to death while defending his mother A 20-year-old man, identified as Silas Kimba Mahlaba, was allegedly stabbed to death while trying to defend his mother during a confrontation with a church caretaker in Tshepiso, Sharpeville, on Thursday, 29 October 2026. According to reports, Silas and his mother were on their way to a nearby spaza shop when they encountered the caretaker, who allegedly began verbally abusing his mother. The situation reportedly escalated when the man picked up a brick and threatened the mother. When Silas intervened and questioned why the man was insulting her, the caretaker allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest. Despite being injured, Silas reportedly managed to walk home before collapsing. Neighbours helped rush him to a local clinic, after which he was transferred to Sebokeng Hospital. Sadly, he died as they arrived at the hospital.
