Parents you do know you have the power to keep your child/children home. When my daughter was in school there were plenty of times I've kept her home due to weather conditions. And I would email and call the attendance office stating such.

It’s the school board that made that decision not the mayor. I kept my child home, I wasn’t sending him out in this mess. Sometimes you have to use common sense and use the information available to make the best choice for your family regardless of what the school board decides
