I can’t lie I’ve used them a couple of times recently when there’s been more than one space bc I am eight months preggo and huge and people keep parking so close to me that I can’t get back into my car🥲

We have a 5 year old who can unbuckle himself. Once he can open and close the door and properly walk with me, then I’m not parking there anymore. We’re not far away from that and we’ve had our time, we should know better!

Honestly it enraaaages me. I honestly wish they’d put the spaces at the back of the fkng car park so I can stop saying YOU LEFT YOUR CHILD IN THE SHOP OH DEAR. 😂😒

Worst ones for me are the ones where the family pulls in, and then the mam or dad just sits in the car with the kids whilst the other adult goes and shops.

Omg controversial but my pet hate is when one parent goes in to do the shop & the other parent is in the car with the kids and they park and wait in a child’s bay 🤣

I confronted an older couple yesterday - their response was that they had a blue badge. It would’ve been fair… but there were literally a dozen empty blue badge spaces and they took the last parent/child bay. Infuriating!

I honestly think after you give birth, the hospital, home birth midwives, health visitors etc should hand you a permit with an expiry date on it. If you don’t have a permit, you get fined

i saw someone else say. I would have no issue if the car spaces weren't close to the shops. its the space... i can walk a little further but I need to be able to get my baby in and out the car

Meadow hall have it right , you have to sign up for a permit in person WITH baby - otherwise you get a fine .. and they actually fine people

Ive just started parking in these bays now im 9 months pregnant and have given up trying to squeeze into my car. It suprised me how many people park there who have no kids, or as you said, older kids/teenagers!

I have recently used a parent a child spot a couple of times since being 8/9 months pregnant and I have never noticed before how many people use them with older children 😳 even taking the last or only space!

I’ve got a small baby. Like my 5 week old isn’t even in newborn clothing yet type of small and I got told I shouldn’t need to use the parent and child because it should be easy getting him out of the car. His car seat isn’t a micro car seat Sharon and neither is his pram

Totally agree with this!! Also when my husband will be staying in the car with my baby, we don’t park in the child bays. Because it’s not needed
