I learned somewhere along the way that if I want something, I get it myself, but I never let anybody in my past forget how they made me feel by “forgetting to get them something, too”. My birthday & our anniversary we’re 1 day apart. He had a whole year to plan/get me a gift. I got nothing from him. He said he would get me something on payday. I bought my own gift (a Coach purse) & told everyone it was from him.
