At a hypothetical 60° angle relative to the ground, 75% of the aircraft’s kinetic energy is associated with its vertical velocity component. Instead of sliding across the surface and carving a long trench, much of that energy can be transferred directly into the ground, producing a deep crater and catastrophic fragmentation. And bomb craters aren’t always perfectly circular either. Their shape depends on the explosion’s location, direction, surrounding structures and ground conditions. Investigators reported aircraft debris scattered around the Florida crash site. A nearby resident even reported debris striking his house. Crater shape alone cannot tell you whether a bomb or an aircraft caused the damage. That’s not forensic analysis, that’s a cartoon pretending to be science. 💀
