@zerodollarcoaching: If employees start working at 8:45, their pay should start at 8:45. Opening the business and preparing for customers are part of the job. Managers, stop treating unpaid work like a test of commitment. #WorkplaceCulture #UnpaidWork #ManagementTips
If you’re not willing to be ready to handle customer at 9AM, then I’ll just put you on the late shifts. Its a give and take mindset

The company I work for has a start time of 7am for the last year I’ve been showing up at 6am And clocking in getting my truck ready for the day because I chose to. Almost a year later and now 2 other guys do it while most roll in at 7.

I'm allowed to clock in 10 minutes before start time up to 15 minutes after. if I miss the 15 minutes late I'm sent home and forced to burn a PTO day. I'm given more PTO each year I can hardly afford to use other than staying home. so it doesn't matter much to me. 🤣

My current employer “let’s” us clock in 7 minutes early, but doesn’t pay us till the shift time starts. Also, it takes 15 minutes just to get into and out of the building because of their poor parking lot situation.

My former store manager couldn’t grasp why I showed up 15 minutes early. I’m not doing anything but mentally prepping myself for the micromanaging they will do because they are bored.

I always said you need to be on the floor and ready to serve at 9am. what you had to do was your time as long as you were ready.

8am start means you are ready to work at 8am…not rolling into the parking lot at 8:01 with coffee, using the bathroom, and finishing your donut.

i had some karen try and get on my case that I wasn't clocked in 15 mins early. Her reason? Well now I have to stay late and tell you all the stuff that needs to be done. B*tch we worked at a deli counter in a grocery store. Its not rocket science to figure that 💩 out. She tried to complain to management and I said my shift starts at this time I'm not coming out till I start.
