CHIEF DR. CHUKWUMA OBIOHA Early Life and Family Background Chief Dr. Chukwuma Obioha was born on February 16, 1939, in Arondizuogu, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. He got married in 1971 and has five children, comprising one son and four daughters. Education Dr. Obioha began his primary education at St. Bartholomew Primary School, Enugu, from 1944 to 1946. He continued at Aggrey Primary School, Arochukwu, between 1947 and 1950, before proceeding to Aggrey Memorial College, Arochukwu, from 1951 to 1953. He later attended National High School, Arondizuogu, from 1954 to 1956. He subsequently pursued medical studies at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom, laying the foundation for his career in medicine. Professional Career Dr. Obioha began his professional journey in 1957 when he was appointed a schoolteacher at National High School, Arondizuogu. He later worked as a Third Class Clerk with the Federal Public Service Commission in Lagos. In 1965 and 1966, he served as a House Surgeon and Physician at Bristol Royal Infirmary in Bristol and Plymouth General Hospital in England. Following his return to Nigeria, he worked as a Senior House Officer at University College Hospital, Ibadan, in 1966. Between 1966 and 1970, he served as a Registrar at the General Hospital, Enugu, before moving to the General Hospital, Owerri, where he worked from 1970 to 1972. In 1972, he was appointed Medical Superintendent of Mbaise Joint Hospital, Aboh Mbaise. He also served as Medical Director of General Hospital, Ahiazu Mbaise, from 1972, according to the available records. Dr. Obioha also established and led The Ikenegbu Specialist Hospital, Owerri, serving as its Medical Director and Chief Executive.
