yes, this is also why he makes up stories about me being unfaithful because it gives him an out to mistreat me and continue to devalue me. The sleeping through it with a smile on their face is just the icing on the cake. The whole system is set up to make their treatment of you plausible.

there are now 3 responses Ive gotten when I cry. he rages at me, he stares at me blankly or completely ignored me even if it's that I'm hurt physically (I broke my foot), or he punishes me in a passive aggressive way a little later. it can be a combo too. But you better bet he expects me to listen to his fears, calm his anxiety and have solutions to his problems, most of which he caused himself.
