@jaycub_1292: The first step to healing from the fawn response is recognizing that it can be one of the most dangerous trauma responses because your well-being and nervous system regulation are repeatedly placed in the hands of a perpetrator or perceived threat when they no longer have to be. Of course, the fawn response can be healthy and necessary in situations where a threat cannot be overcome or escaped, which is often the case during childhood. However, the problem begins when you continue placing your well-being in the hands of someone who no longer needs to have that much power over you. Healing means learning to recognize when the fawn response is no longer necessary and gradually allowing yourself to respond with other emotions and behaviors, such as anger, assertiveness, or setting boundaries. We explore this process in greater detail in the full episode. #traumahealing #fawn #psychology #trauma #therapy @Dr. Vincent Barbieri
At some point when someone yells or gets angry, I’m afraid I’ll get hit or thrown out.

Always remeber in the woods to bring bear spray. And always remember out of the woods to “choose the bear.”

I have done this and also witnessed this. I constantly catch where it comes up in multiple social and work settings, HOWEVER, I have met people on the way in this weird AF and messy healing journey where I witnessed it early and had to step out. SO ROUGH & REAL 😳😳😳
