Early Life and Childhood ​Muhammad Jaza Ali, universally known as "Hama Jaza," was born in 1949 in the charming and renowned Kaniskani neighborhood of Sulaymaniyah. Raised in a modest and devoted family, he developed a deep passion for art and music from early childhood, while a profound sense of patriotism ran through his veins. ​2. Artistic Beginning and Recognition ​Hama Jaza stepped into the artistic world in the early 1970s. In 1971, with his celebrated song "Bibi Khanam," he captured the hearts of Kurdish music lovers and introduced his clear, distinctive voice to the public—a voice embodying Kurdish authenticity and emotion. ​3. Choosing the Mountains and the Peshmerga Life ​As the oppression and cruelty of the Ba'athist regime against the people of Kurdistan intensified, Hama Jaza could not remain merely a singer on a stage. Thus, in 1981, he took up arms and headed to the mountains of Kurdistan to join the Peshmerga. From there, he turned the Kurdish mountains into the grandest studio for recording heroic and revolutionary chants. ​4. The Rifle and the Voice: Comrades in Arms ​Alongside the "Shahid Karzan Music Ensemble," amidst the fierce struggles of battle and resistance, Hama Jaza became the voice that boosted the morale of the Peshmerga. On one hand, his rifle served defense; on the other, his soulful voice healed wounds and revived the spirits of his comrades. ​5. Immortal Works ​Throughout his glorious artistic legacy, this great artist created 212 songs and patriotic and traditional chants. Among his most prominent works that remain vivid in collective memory: ​Shangaberi ​Buki Azadi (The Bride of Freedom) ​Nalay Judayi (The Wail of Separation) ​Along with numerous other motivational, romantic, and patriotic songs. ​6. Passing Away ​After a lifetime of service to art and the homeland, this authentic and untiring voice passed away on October 1, 2010, in the city of Sulaymaniyah at the age of 61 due to illness.
