back in the '80s, the United States thought that the Soviets had a much more powerful military than they actually had because Soviet Union were lying about operational readiness and manpower to their chain of command... and US intelligence was getting those inflated numbers, so that's why we thought they were much more powerful back then than they actually were.

Word should have spread among the Russians that sign up for military service in Ukraine by now that this a death sentence for them as soon as they enter Ukraine. Their military leadership and soldiers under them should spend more time concentrating on how to sack Putin and his inner circle in Moscow and rebuild their country and get out of Ukraine and not worry about advancing on a battlefield that they don't belong on in the first place.
