@ameer.b.fit: Other weirdness of these machines: 1. Seat height. On some of these I had the seat set for the shortest person and my arms were still barely in the right spot (im 6ft). The seat sets where the handles start relative to your shoulders, so a lot of people (especially shorter lifters) end up with their elbows way too high. 2. Some machines have the handles angled all janky. These ones were fine. 3. Some start way too deep. With a weight you can actually handle through the mid-lengthened range, the first rep starts so deep in the hole it's rough. Tip: put yoga blocks under the pads where the arms rest so they work like launch blocks. Physics fine print: 4. The 45° incline Gymleco actually peaks right before lockout. The physics I showed was mostly about the more decline-looking press. Hammer Strength presses (what most gyms in the US have) are way worse. My guess without one in front of me is the moment arm grows 70 to 80% from bottom to top. 5. When I said the line of force stays in the same spot, I ignored the handles' arc and the friction at your hands changing through the rep. Both shift the line of force a bit, but the general pattern still holds. 6. The strength curve is a rough illustration for this type of loading. If you're thinking of how strong you are at the top of a dumbbell bench press, that's different. There, the line of force is stacked through all your joints. It's not pointing outwards and putting torque on your shoulder. On this machine, it is. Giving it its flowers: It's very stable. And the axis is on top, which lines up better with how your shoulder actually flexes (with your elbows tucked, you do go through some shoulder flexion). With the axis below, some machines push you into a weird up-and-over path that doesn't match it. If you made it through the physics, you'll like what we built. I don’t think it’s such a big deal you just have to get 80% range you won’t lose that much on those 20% left

it is a compound movement. doing half reps will indeed engage pecs more effectively, but you are loosing any stimulus you could have achieved on your triceps. it is your personal preference of course, but doing compounds like isolations seems like a waste of a compound to me
