Faith Evans Ordered to Pay $12.5M From The Notorious B.I.G.’s Estate to Trust of His Late Mother, Voletta Wallace A Delaware court has found R&B singer Faith Evans, 53, liable to pay $12,518,336 from The Notorious B.I.G.’s estate to a trust created by his late mother, Voletta Wallace. On Tuesday, Oct. 27, Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery wrote that the trust is entitled to distributions made as of the date of Wallace’s d*ath. It is also entitled to prejudgment interest, compounded quarterly. The case goes back to July 2025. That is when Wayne Barrow, the rapper’s former manager, filed against Evans. Barrow was named sole trustee by Voletta before her d*ath, replacing Evans’ son, C.J. In 2007, Evans and Voletta created Notorious B.I.G., LLC, which holds the rights to the rapper’s intellectual property. When Voletta died in 2025, she left her interest in the company to the trust. Barrow claimed that when he tried to assert the trust’s rights, Evans blocked him. According to the judgment, she was “presumably angered” that her son had been removed. In August, a Delaware judge sided with Barrow. Barrow’s attorney, Jay W. Frieberg, says Evans is now ordered to have the LLC pay the trust over $14,000,000 by Nov. 10. He called the order a continuation of decisions recognizing her “misbehavior.” PEOPLE has reached out to lawyers for Evans for comment. A separate lawsuit filed by C.J. in Pennsylvania is still ongoing. It claims Voletta was “improperly influenced” to name Barrow sole trustee.
