I read this hard copy and while it wasn’t perfect it was so good, I think, for a debut.

I got my mum addicted to Emma M Lion - she binged them all in two weeks and I’ve put her on India Holton

Read 20 books, only one 5 ⭐️: The Secret of Snow by Tina Harnesk (translated by Alice Menzies). I wept. What a beautiful life-affirming novel. Other top books included: The Iron Garden Sutra, The Unmagical Life of Briar Jones, Black Bag, Victorious, You'll Love it Here, Heartwood, and The Temptation of Charlotte North.

I think my three favorites in October were 1. Loved One by Aisha Muharrar (touching & so good) 2. Immortal Rose by Alexandra Bracken (not deep, just a good time and I liked it for what it was), and Into The Blue by Emma Brodie. Runner up was Seek the Traitor’s Son by Veronica Roth (do not trust this author much re:Tris, lol.)

The Diabolic by SJ Kincaid is an emotional rollercoaster if you’re willing to give a 2016 YA sci-fi trilogy a shot! Character shifts and betrayals. Fell in love with the two main characters in the first book, second book had me screaming and third book had me crying, which is rare. I remember it being an amazing execution of morally grey characters for a YA series, and I rarely see anyone talk about it

I’m having such a hard time with weavingshaw right now 😅. I’m stuck at 50%. Maybe I just need to get to said titular house?

i fear the issue with weavingshaw really was the writing. i wanted to love it and i was invested in that last 25% but woof i almost DNFed so early because of how tell-y it was

I definitely think the Jasad Heir comparison didn’t do Weavingshaw any favors. I enjoyed it, but certainly saw the flaws.

Okay I’m actually convinced our taste couldn’t be more alike, because also 5 books into Emma M Lion and I am down bad for Islington but everyone I’ve talked to has been team pierce 🥲

I’m reading The Shadow of What Was Lost by James Islington. Not finished but thinking 4.5 Star. Have you read this? What did you think?

Dude, I haven’t been able to finish a book since I read Floating Hotel by Grace Curtis in September, which was good but not great. But I did start From The Library of Jurgen Leitner, which I wouldn’t pick up unless you’re familiar with The Magnus Archives, so I don’t know. Though I can give you about 20 fiction podcasts that made me want to climb the walls. Midnight Burger is still the best thing I’ve discovered.
