@occonews: Customer withdrawals have become a key test of confidence in Binance following the theft of approximately $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency. A Binance spokesperson told Reuters that customers had withdrawn a cumulative net $4.72 billion since services reopened, with most withdrawals made in Tether’s USDT stablecoin. That is a later figure than the initially reported $3.64 billion. Binance previously said it processed about $4.649 billion in withdrawals and $1.01 billion in deposits between 06:00 and 15:30 UTC on November 1, resulting in approximately $3.64 billion in net outflows over 9.5 hours. In its subsequent update, Binance also reported about $2.7 billion in cumulative customer inflows. It said withdrawal volumes were stabilizing after an initial spike and that the $4.72 billion net outflow represented roughly 3% of platform assets. These figures are company disclosures, not independently audited results. Separately, Binance said on November 2 that it had replenished approximately 95% of the affected assets using company resources. The remaining 5% consisted mainly of less-liquid tokens that would take longer to acquire at the required scale. The exchange also announced that a full zero-knowledge proof had been generated for its October 31 reserve snapshot. Users holding BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD or ZEC can verify coverage at that snapshot. This is a point-in-time reserve verification, not a real-time, comprehensive financial audit. The FBI has attributed the theft to North Korean TraderTraitor activity. It said the attackers were primarily converting stolen assets into ETH and were expected to continue laundering them through DeFi and instant-swap services. Full recovery of the stolen funds and complete restoration of withdrawal services had not been confirmed in the sources reviewed.
