@allhelpmatters: Open Apple Maps, and Gaza is still standing. Open Google, and you see February 2026 — whole neighborhoods reduced to rubble. One map shows the world as it was. (The side-by-side pairing was documented by Al Jazeera's Open Sources unit, which compared the two maps directly.) The other shows what was done to it — and even that one is months out of date. This is not a claim about why. Satellite pictures are patchworks, taken on different days, and Apple Maps still displays older imagery across much of Gaza. But look at what that means, quietly, on millions of phones: a whole people's home, still drawn as if it exists. The UN's satellite centre counts roughly 82% of Gaza's structures damaged — two-thirds of them destroyed. The buildings on Apple's screen aren't a conspiracy. They're a memory. The people who lived in them don't get to live in the "before" picture.
