@couriernebraska: Leaders in organized labor gathered in Omaha on Monday, Nov. 2—the eve of Election Day—to reaffirm their support for Denise Powell in the race for Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District seat. Ron Kaminski, president of the Nebraska & Southwest Iowa Building & Construction Trades Council, said their members have executed one of their largest canvassing efforts yet in support of Powell. "It's exciting. I'm so honored to have them in my corner," Powell told Courier Nebraska. "We need to do everything in our power to start bringing down costs, because families are just drowning right now, and it is so clear that they don't trust anybody to come and help them." Powell will face off against Republican Brinker Harding on the 2026 midterm ballot. Polls open at 8 a.m. CT and 7 a.m. MT on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Follow Courier Nebraska for election night results.
