The entire roof uses a welded hollow sphere space frame system. Tens of thousands of steel members and spherical nodes are assembled together to form a large-span roof structure covering the terminal. Many people simply call this type of structure a grid structure, while in international engineering it is commonly known as a Space Frame. Based on the connection method of the nodes, space frame systems are mainly divided into two types. Welded hollow sphere space frames connect steel tubes to spherical nodes by welding. They provide high overall rigidity and excellent structural performance, making them widely used in airports, stadiums, exhibition centers, and other large-span public buildings. Bolted sphere space frames connect steel tubes to spherical nodes using high-strength bolts. They offer efficient installation and convenient assembly, making them widely used in industrial buildings, enclosed coal storage facilities, warehouses, and logistics buildings.
