U covered the back of the fan. So no air was being sucked in to blow out. If u notice the first part the bottom of the bag is in the front so means the opening is in the back. That’s why the bag inflated. When u did it, it just stuck there. Not saying this method works but maybe try that

Remove the grills and blades, wash and dry them, then reassemble. It takes literally 10 minutes.

You know that fan can be taken apart by moving three clips and the fan place comes off by unscrewing the cap. All fans can be disassembled
