No, Disney channel had no idea how big this movie would be. it's popularity was unprecedented. no dcom had ever reached this level of fame before. it truly was an anamoly

I think this movie introduced a different form of popularity that affected the new generation. My older siblings and me have a very big age gap and when they were in school they told me the most popular kids had very bad grades, got introuble, and were bullies. When I started hs the popular people were class presidents, honor roll students, volunteers, and generally nice people. Saving the earth was popular. Helping people was popular. I think it’s cool how things have changed.

Zac’s voice was changing when they filmed so it was mixed with Drew Seeley. He sang by himself for the last two movies.

Never got the hype. I watched it and sure I liked it, but the absolute hysteria this movie caused was ridiculous. Mind you I was the target audience. I grew up with the Disney original movies and got excited for all the "commercials" that were bts and showing upcoming movies. Thirteenth Year, Smart Home and Don't Look Under the Bed are my favorites. But this? It was just OK 🤣🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

I honestly feel like this movie is one of the reasons why everyone became so accepting of everyone liking other things though. well, this and grease but grease was above my age group at the time

I prefered the third movies soundtrack, but like all three albumbs, but the movies in and of themselves bored me.
