@caanpilot: Some days, being a pilot feels a little heavier. Tragedies like this affect us more than you might realize. Every pilot hears about them, listens to the ATC recordings, tries to understand what happened, and inevitably puts themselves in that cockpit, wondering what they would have done differently. Last night, I was having dinner when I started listening to the ATC recordings. And suddenly, everything around me just stopped. As a pilot, you almost feel like you have to listen until the very end. Needless to say, the mood of the evening completely changed. Then come the phone calls and messages asking what happened to the airplane. And the truth is, we don't have all the answers. It's not our place to speculate or draw conclusions. Just like everyone else, we're waiting for the official investigation. Unfortunately, in aviation, some of the most important lessons are learned from tragedies that cost people their lives. And today, going to work feels a little different. I find myself thinking about the conversations I'll have with my pilots, the questions we'll ask, and the lessons we can take away. Because at the end of the day, no matter how experienced we are, we all want the same thing to come home safely. Please be a little extra kind to your pilots today.
