@martinmanyozo3: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐀 𝐖𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓! 🌍✊🏾 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭? I shared this spoken word piece, “The Africa We Want,” with my fellow African scholars at the University of Oxford under the AfOx Mastercard Foundation Scholarship during our retreat. It’s interesting to see how we have the African Union’s Agenda 2063, a bold vision for Africa’s future, and yet Africa still accounts for roughly two-thirds of the world’s extreme poverty, while more than half a billion people in Africa still lack access to electricity. I’m sure that’s NOT the Africa we all want! Personally; - I want an Africa where a child’s destiny is not determined by the village of their birth. - An Africa where young people do not need to know a politician to find an opportunity. - An Africa where innovation is 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐃, 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐅𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃! - An Africa where borders become 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐆𝐄𝐒, 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐑𝐒! At least… THAT’S THE AFRICA I WANT! 🌍 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞? Watch the video for more, and tell me what kind of Africa you want in the comment section! And remember, the Africa we all want will not be built by the outside world alone. It must be built by Africa, with Africans, together with the world, but NOT WAITING FOR THE WORLD! 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓’𝐒 𝐀 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐓!!! 🇲🇼🔥✊🏾 #TheAfricaWeWant #Agenda2063 #AfoxMastercardFoundationScholars #UniversityOfOxford #AmMalawian
