🎄 Leche Flan French Toast This Leche Flan French Toast is the perfect pair for a warm cup of coffee — and honestly, one of the best date night desserts for the holidays. Speaking of perfect pairs, me and my wife just got these new Havaianas — super cozy, comfy, and pairs nicely with our dates as well as having a cute matching set with my wife. @Havaianas PH INGREDIENTS: French toast: - Use your bread of choice (here i’m using Japanese Milk Bread) - Butter for frying Leche Flan Batter: - 8 large egg yolks - 1 can of evaporated milk (roughly 350ml) - 1 can of condensed milk (roughly 350g) - Dayap/Key Lime zest - 1 tsp of vanilla extract Custard: - 500 g of whole milk - 100g of granulated sugar - 4 large egg yolks - 35g of cornstarch - 30 g of chilled unsalted butter - 2 tsp pure vanilla extract (10 g) - Pinch of salt INSTRUCTIONS: - Combine all the ingredients listed under “Leche Flan Batter” whisk until smooth. Soak your bread—just enough to let the flavors absorb, depending on their thickness. Fry these in butter, until golden brown then set aside. - For the custard, combine milk with vanilla extract and heat gently until warmed through. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, and salt until smooth, before tempering with your infused milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick. - Remove from heat, add butter then chill for at least 2 hours until set. - Layer the custard between slices, dust with confectioner sugar, and brulée the top w sugar until crisp and golden. Serve with strawberries, whipped cream, more dayap zest and enjoy! #HavaianasPhilippines, #BreakTheRush, #BreakTheHolidayRush #JustLume
