It’s the best layout of any major airport in Australia I can think of. A solution for those with mobility issues is a gap and needs to be fixed

It was fine, easy to navigate. Hate the idea of paying for trolleys but most people seem to just wheel their suitcases anyway.

Paid trolleys at an airport should be a crime. 😐 Also any word on how the new airport rail link (if it ever actually gets built...) will connect up with this / the terminal? Will it connect closer to the terminal or far back like the car drop off?

New drop off is fine, would have been better if they had escalators and stairs down for each row rather than crossing to a single building. The new pick up area is a disaster though and needs to be re-thought.

People only hate it because something they're used to has been changed. Doesn't matter if it's for the better or worse. But I think Melb Airport should've kept the instant drop off road accessible for buses or as a paid express drop-off

I found the new drop off and pick up super easy to use and the staff were quite helpful as well! I think it’s just an adjustment for frequent travellers

Separating pedestrians crossings and cars would have been key and quite possible. This was the original problem in both the original drop off and pickup areas that they didn’t manage to fix in this new design.

At the end of the day it’s just ghetto 😭 the low roof inside is just awful. And we lost a lot of flexibility in the old set up and for those that used Qantas Valet was soo convenient in the old location. Side note- don’t get your car washed at Melb airport they scratched and ruined my cars paint 😭😭
