@toltutufa: Telling your daughter to “be careful around boys” is not enough. We need to teach our girls how to recognise the difference between attention and affection, navigate peer pressure, and know exactly how to get out of uncomfortable situations. Our daughters don’t just need warnings. They need practical advice they can actually use. A special acknowledgement to @kaileyanna whose insights directly inspired these three lessons. I wanted to build on her advice and bring a parent education perspective to these important conversations. Credit where it’s due! ❤️

Where do these boys come from, and why aren’t we raising them to become decent, respectful and well-mannered men? The problem is that we often pay more attention to how we raise our daughters than how we teach our sons to behave. We teach our girls to be careful, to protect themselves, to watch their behaviour and to respect others. But what are we teaching our boys? Are we teaching them to respect women, understand boundaries, control their behaviour, accept rejection and treat everyone with kindness and dignity? A mother’s responsibility is not just to raise a son who is successful, but to raise a man who knows how to respect others. Teach your boys that being a man is not about power, control or intimidation; it is about respect, responsibility, kindness and good character. Don’t just raise boys to become men; raise them to become good men. Be a good mother, raise respectful sons, and let our daughters live in a world where they can feel safe, respected and happy.

I'm speechless. Every father, mother and daughter should listen to this. I would never get this kind of support from a parent, but maybe from a best friend.

Toltu this is fantastic advice, I'm a father of two young daughters and am very wary of this in school. I want to be their place and person they feel safe coming to and not hide. Thanks

Teach your children that "No" is a full answer in response to a demand being made of them, and that how someone responds to being told No will tell you all about their intentions towards you.

If as a parent you’re thinking to have this talk later. DONT! Start from as early as you think is necessary for your child. Mine was groomed age 11 via a game with a hidden chat room!!
