I was attached to 120 in Iraq and had a pj on my aircraft for csar. He walked up and said to me I looked like a weakling and that he would fix me. Everyday for weeks we climbed a rope and did sprints on the flight line until I wanted to die. That guy was an absolute beast

The marine corps doesn’t offer direct entry contracts for special forces, closest you could get would be a recon contract.

I can swim a 500 in 10:19 currently, I’m not super fast but I’m also quite new and trying to be calm the whole time and focus on the stroke rather than speed, I could have went faster but I broke my pattern of breathing every 2-3 stroke to every stroke (bad habit, kills the glide)

I too thought I was a good swimmer. Then the CGRS at Myrtle decided to make me puke past the breakwater. I got schooled that day. And I kept going back for more. I did have great hair in those days!

What I got out of this is that the money we’ve spent on my 9yo distance swimmer may pay off one day! 😂 Because even she can blow a 12 minute 500 out of the water.
