Prayer is the mainstay of religion and the greatest of acts of worship after the two testimonies. It is the strong link between the servant and his Lord. It has been imposed by Allah on Muslims five times a day to be a reason for reassurance of the heart, forgiveness of sins, and increased faith. And the right prayer is one that the Muslim performs with reverence and tranquility, following the example of the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) in his words and deeds. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "Pray as you have seen me praying." The Muslim begins his prayer with purity and true ablution, covering the awrah, receiving the qiblah, and then intends to pray in his heart. After that, he opens the prayer with the takbeer of the ihram, saying: "Allah is the greatest," raising his hands like his shoulders or ears. Then he recites the supplication of Al-Iftah, if he wills, and after that he recites Al-Fatihah in every rak'ah because it is one of the basic pillars of prayer. Then he recites what is available to him from the Holy Qur'an. After the completion of the reading, he kneels reverently, putting his hands on his knees and saying: "Glory be to my Lord the Great," taking into account the reassurance and lack of haste. Then he rises from bowing moderately and stands up and says: "Allah hears to those who praise Him," then: "Our Lord, praise be to you." After that, he prostrates to the seven members: the forehead with the nose, hands, knees, and feet, saying: "Glory be to my Lord the Most High," and is keen on reverence in prostration, for it is one of the closest places in which a servant is from his Lord. Then he sits between the two prostrations saying: "Lord, forgive me," then prostrates the second prostrate, and these actions are repeated in the remaining rak'ahs according to their number. In the last session, he recites the tashahd and the Abrahamic prayer, then concludes his prayers by handing over from the oath and the north, saying: "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah." Among the important pillars of prayer are: standing with the ability, the takbeer of ihram, reciting Al-Fatihah, bowing, lifting from it, prostrating, sitting between the two prostrations, reassurance, the last witness, prayer on the Prophet, and rendition. Among the desirable in prayer: raising the hands when takbeer, placing the right hand on the left on the chest, reading the supplication of the opening, contemplating verses, and maintaining complete reverence throughout the prayer. Prayer is not just movements performed by a Muslim; rather it is a great worship that enlightens the heart, explains the chest, and increases the servant's closeness to Allah Almighty. And the more a Muslim keeps it faithfully and reverently, the more he finds tranquility and happiness in his life.
