100 years ago, 12 - 14 years old left their homes and families to start their own lives, work and get married. That's how most humans have lived in known history.

because if you decided at 25 you would have to study for that specific thing for another 5 years.
its just inefficient to study for 12 years, take a 7 year break, figure out what you want to do then and try to specialize into that thing

because it's false. your brain never stops developing. if it does, congrats, you're dead! 15-18 is when your brain goes through its most significant mature development, and is when you should start learning to handle life in all of its fiery hell

that also raises another concern of Mines how is the age of consent is 18 but in some states is 16 or even lower but besides that. how is the age of consent 18 but our brain fully develops at the age of 25 doesn't that not sound a little predatory some people forget that the word Eighteen still has the word "teen" in it same thing for nineteen

the brain doesn't stop developing until you die. the study usually quoted just had an age cut off of 25. also, no one is choosing what they're doing for the rest of their lives at 15.

Because 25 is when they stopped the experiment; there’s no sign the brain stops developing until you die. 16-18 is just a balance of comprehension and neuroplasticity.

i’m pretty sure the study that stated the brain is fully developed at 25, was based off an experiment where the age cap was 25 years old
