@ladypenglovesyou: You don't need to run a five-star resort to run a seven-figure waxing business. Listen, I LOVE a good client experience. But somewhere along the way, we started confusing good service with expensive service. A beautiful waiting room is lovely. Complimentary refreshments? Very thoughtful. But none of that matters if your clients are waiting 20 minutes past their appointment time. The real luxury is a business that runs like a well-oiled machine. Clients know exactly where to go. They have everything they need. Your waxers can focus on waxing. And YOU get to keep more of the money you've worked so damn hard to earn. So before you add another expense to your business, ask yourself: Does this actually improve the client experience, or does it just make my studio look fancy? Because you can spoil your clients AND be smart with your money. That's how we build financial titans, baby. 💰
this post is so wrong. I'm a receptionist and never have I offered water to anyone 😆 blessed be 💜

I’ve always wondered What do y’all do for checking out the client . Do you have the Waxer check out the client at the end of the service or do the clients pay in full before they come? And then also, what do you do for clients who needs to cancel or reschedule or if they’re having trouble like scheduling and stuff? How does that part of it work?

This is the first time I’ve disagreed with you. We have client advisors. SALES position. And guess what? They bring in 15k+ per month, handle membership questions, so the waxers can just focus on what they do best.

That’s great if you already have a full schedule. But reception generally does scheduling/rescheduling. They work to fill gaps. If you’ve got 30 minutes work of unbooked slots that’s $500ish a week you miss out on, or about..25k a year. And that’s for ONE waxer. But

Yikes. Imagine being a bombass receptionist and reading someone devalue your position just because of “wasted payroll.”

sounds like a factory...get em in and get em out. Front desk does so much more that greet. In this day and age with AI bots and self check outs, we've lost that human connection. If a client is consistent with their waxing, 15 mins is doable, but how thorough is it especially if someonr is not consistent. Sure, educating is what it's all about, but how often do you get those clients that do not listen??? Someone who has not been waxed in 3+ months, 15 minutes will not produce a very thorough wax. Over 15 years exclusively waxing has taught me that. In my time as a waxer, the majority of clients prefer thorough over speed as well as a more comfortable wax experience

It’s okay if you don’t need a receptionist, but what’s the point of making a whole post about it? Did you like, fire someone? And trying to justify it?? Because there’s no reason to diminish a job. I could also wax at home 🤷🏻♀️

yall are all so badly missing the point for no reason when she’s right. It is a waste of money to hire a front desk girl to greet people/rebook if that’s all they do. If your front desk girl sells products, tracks inventory, rebooks, greets, organizes shelves and more then that’s not just a receptionist greeting client. She’s getting paid for other services.
