🥪🍵 SANDOITCHI HOUSTON | Worth the Hype? 👀 I loved @sandoitchi pop-up last year, so I was excited to hear they finally opened a brick-and-mortar in the Heights! But this visit left me with mixed feelings. 🥹 Waiting in line for 20 minutes, and I was there around 2pm so the famous egg sando was sold out 😭 so i got these items: 🥪 Spicy Truffle Chicken Katsu Sando: Still delicious and packed with the flavors I remembered! Soft bouncy bread, tender juicy chicken with lil spicy kick from the truffle sauce. Although the portion seemed a little smaller this time. 🍗 Chicken Karaage: Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment! $9 for five small pieces that were soggy, lacked crispiness, and had batter falling off. The dipping sauce was just bland mayo. Definitely expected better from this one. 🍵 Jasmine Matcha: Lovely floral jasmine notes, but a little too milky for my preference. I wish the matcha had a stronger presence. ✨ They have a small seating area inside, with a spacious, dog-friendly patio! Parking can be tricky in the Heights as well. I know they’re still in their soft-opening phase, so there’s room to improve.
