@interestingengineering: Finnish boatbuilder Foilone has fitted its single-seat electric hydrofoil, Pegasus, with a bigger motor, a new motor controller and a new throttle pedal during test sessions on Lake Como, Italy. In Foilone's own footage, the boat goes from standstill to foiling in about three seconds, though the extra low-speed torque can make the front foil lose grip on takeoff.

With foiling when you hit seaweed, it's like hitting a wall. Nice idea but dangerous.

It needs to be able to adjust the front foil when thrust is applied so it doesn’t pop a wheelie.

throw a fiber optic spool on the back and a EFP charge on the front and you're looking at the future of coastal naval warfare
