I have a similar recollection from my childhood. I was 4 years old and I had these 2 older step siblings that didn't like me or my little brother. it was a boy 13 and girl 11. they wrote my name of a vase with permanent marker and tried to get me in trouble for doing it. my mom yelled at me and asked why I would do that. My 4 year old self had to remind my own mother that I didn't know how to spell my name let alone write it in uniform where all the letters were perfectly spaced and sized.
