I’m absolutely convinced that it was on the receipt simply because it had to be ordered but the total was ZERO for that one item. That’s literally how an ordering system works.

I brought an ice cream cake to a restaurant for my son's 7th birthday. I called ahead and made sure that was ok, dropped it off early and confirmed that they could hold it in the freezer. When the time came for the cake they came out and told us the cake had been put in the fridge so it was completely melted. I did not freak out although then my 7yo had no birthday cake. I did ask that they take the price of the cake, which was $40, off our check. I only freaked out when they made OUR SERVER pay for it out of her own pocket - like she literally tried to hand me cash. I refused to take it and then I did Karen out on the manager because WTF.
