If the leafs really wanted to, of course they could make this happen, but the price is too high, I don’t think the leafs should Mortgage the future for a guy that’s gonna be good for 3 more years. Players have a major drop off around 34-35. What, we’re gonna pay him $20 million a year for what he did in Tampa, no thanks.

Why are we even talking about this? It’s a ridiculous notion. The leafs do not need another forward. They need defense. Their forward group is top five in the league when healthy, in my opinion.

Wanna know why the Leafs only have two decent up & comers on their roster? It’s because the GMs keep trading them off for over the hill veterans in some vain hope that they’ll rebound, mortgaging the future for a slim to nothing chance at making the playoffs. Signing washed up goalies isn’t helping them either. I respect Kuch’s skill & talent but the Leafs cannot afford him if the price is Danford or Cowan. Go kick rocks, Nikita.
