@melaniejholmes: Palestine, TX is a cute little railroad town. We decided to take a day trip here and see what the downtown area had to offer. The Railroad Museum is very small but they do have a massive toy train exhibit with a scavenger hunt for the kids (or adults like me lol) The courthouse was really pretty on the inside. No Museum in there but the staircase is gorgeous and definitely worth a stop to take photos. The area around the historic Redlands Hotel was under construction so it was a bit hard to get to and photograph but once inside it was the perfect little hotel. We didn't stay here...just came for the pics. We had some lunch at Old Magnolia Cafe which was delicious! Then we spent several hours shopping in all the little shops downtown. I didn't get any pics of the downtown area which I regret but it's cute. It will be way prettier once construction is finished. We ended the day with dinner at Giovanni's and this was hands down the best Italian food I've ever had! I will drive all the way back just for that food!!! Overall we had a great time. We didn't do the Texas State Railroad because we've done it before.
