@mrwoodegh: I never fully understood why Most Ghanaians are not willing to use Telecel Ghana network until I personally received very poor customers service when visited the company’s head office at Airport to seek their side of the story concerning the poor network services reported by the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association. As a responsible blogger, I believe in giving every party the opportunity to respond before publishing a story. That was exactly why I visited Telecel Ghana’s head office to engage its Corporate Communications Department over the Association’s November 1, 2026, press statement. But what happened during my visit left me disappointed. Upon arriving, I approached the receptionist, who immediately made a phone call that lasted not less than five minutes. Throughout that period, I was not offered a seat to wait. Even after the call ended, nobody offered me a chair. Although I did not consider that the main issue, the subsequent interaction was even more concerning. I introduced myself and explained that I was there to seek the response of Telecel Ghana’s Corporate Communications Department regarding the concerns raised by the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association. The receptionist contacted someone on the phone, but when I explained the purpose of my visit, the person I was speaking with started laughing. I was later asked to leave a copy of the press statement with the receptionist. However, when I attempted to submit it electronically because it was available in soft copy, the receptionist declined to receive it. What surprised me most was that I was not provided with an official email address or contact number through which I could forward the document to the appropriate department. MY QUESTION IS: IS THIS HOW A MAJOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY SHOULD TREAT SOMEONE WHO HAS COME TO SEEK ITS SIDE OF A PUBLIC-INTEREST STORY? The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association has raised serious concerns about poor network services affecting businesses and has called on MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana and AirtelTigo to address the situation. Surely, a company that serves millions of customers should have an accessible and professional communication channel for journalists and members of the public. To be clear, my visit was not to attack Telecel Ghana. I went there to give the company a fair opportunity to respond to the allegations. TELECEL GHANA, THE PUBLIC DESERVES ANSWERS! I am still open to hearing the company’s side of the story. What do you think? Is this the kind of customer relations and media engagement Ghanaians should expect from a major telecommunications company?
