@saltsugarandstories: Good morning, y’all! ❤️ What started out as another morning of Kenny not changing the clocks and us getting up an hour too early turned into a walk down memory lane that I wasn’t expecting. I made myself some sugar toast, something my grandma used to make for Jerry and me when we were little. And just like that, I was back in that little two-bedroom trailer in an RV park in Oil City, Louisiana, eating cold eggs, bacon, and sugar toast. I didn’t know we lived in an RV park. I didn’t know we didn’t have much. I just knew I was safe and I was happy. I remember while I was making this video that I do have something of my grandma’s. A picture of Jesus that hung above our breakfast table. I’m so happy to have that. And what weird is that all Kenny has from his grandma is the same thing, a picture of Jesus. 🥰 Then I got to thinking about this crazy, wonderful life I’m living now. At almost 63 years old, here I am making silly videos on the internet, and somehow Conway Twitty’s daughter has commented on one, and Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter has shared another and said she’s in love with me! WHAT?! Grandma, who would have ever thought? ❤️ Some mornings you just make sugar toast. And some mornings that sugar toast takes you back to a little girl you used to be.
