#Akhmet: MUKAGALI MAKATAYEV made a revolution in Kazakh lyrics, making poetry extremely sincere and focused on the inner world of man. Sincerity instead of pathos: Makataev shifted the focus to the most subtle emotional experiences, personal vulnerability and everyday feelings that turned out to be understandable to every reader. Makataev abandoned heavy structures. His work is based on a formula: fresh rhymes, conversational intonation and deep philosophical simplicity. The poet showed that love for the Motherland begins with small things — from the native village, the path, nature and ordinary people. In his poems, a living person sounded with his anxiety, loneliness, reflections on life, time and death. Many of his poems were set to music and turned into popular favorite songs, breaking the barrier between the academician and the common man. Mukagali Makatayev radically transformed Kazakh poetry in the second half of the 20th century, breathing a new breath into it. He turned to deep lyricism, simplified a complex poetic form to natural colloquial speech, and made the inner world of an ordinary person the main object of poetry. Makataev abandoned the style of Soviet literature, replacing it with a sincere, intimate confession. The main character of his poetry was not the builder of communism, but a living person with suffering, love and internal contradictions. The poet glorified earthly things — his native village, maternal hands, love for a woman and the transience of time, giving them a cosmic, philosophical scale. He cleansed Kazakh traditions of ethnographic decorativeness. Makataev brought the poetic language closer to the living, natural Kazakh speech, removing unnecessarily archaic bookish phrases. His poems have a unique inner melody, he masterfully used assonances and alliteration. The poet masterfully modernized the classical Kazakh "kara olen", making it rhythmically and capable of conveying subtle emotional changes. He abandoned forced rhymes, simple and organic harmonies that are easily perceived by ear. Therefore, he is called the "poet of the human soul."
