@thetimes: Why are middle-aged men facing a mental health crisis? Experts attribute the rise to severe life pressures unique to middle age. Divorce and relationship breakdowns are major factors, with couples married for over 20 years accounting for 26 per cent of all divorces. Heightened social isolation, lasting economic hardship from the 2008 financial crash, and the burden of the "sandwich generation" — caring for both teenage children and elderly parents — leave many men with little capacity to care for themselves. In response, the government is allocating £3.6 million across targeted male health prevention projects to support men in high-risk areas. *For news purposes* #men #MentalHealth #health #wellbeing #support
More women attempt than men, men are more successful because they choose the most violent methods. Women who attempt report not wanting to use violent methods for fear of who has to find them like that.

Maybe, just maybe, women are choosing to leave their partners because they are exhausted from carrying the unequal burden in their relationships. And perhaps it is only when they finally walk away that men realise how much their women contributed to their lives. But by then, it may already be too late and they will live on with the consequences

Why? The loss of parents and friends, coupled with the realisation the you're just going to get slower, weaker and dumber from now on. I've yet to have an old person tell me how great being old is.
