Are you an adventure maxxer? Because I am, aaaand I REALLY like waterfalls. 😆 On my recent three-week road trip, I decided to see how many WNC waterfalls I could squeeze into ONE day. The final count? EIGHT waterfalls and right around 10 miles of hiking! I’ve listed the waterfalls below in the order I visited them to make planning your own full-day adventure a little easier! 👇🏼(save for later) 📍 GRAVEYARD FIELDS | BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY Located at milepost 418.8, Graveyard Fields has TWO waterfalls (Upper Falls and Second Falls) you can visit on the same hike! I followed the Graveyard Fields Loop Trail and Upper Falls Spur, approximately 3.3 miles total. 📍 PISGAH NATIONAL FOREST Sliding Rock: A 60-foot natural waterslide! Just a short walk from the parking area. During the warmer months, you can even slide down it! Moore Cove Falls: A beautiful 50-foot waterfall you can actually walk behind! Follow the Moore Cove Falls Trail for approximately 1.3 miles round trip. Looking Glass Falls: This 60-foot waterfall is visible right from the roadside! No hiking required, but you can take the stairs down for a closer look. 📍 DUPONT STATE RECREATIONAL FOREST I followed the High Falls and Triple Falls Tour Trail on AllTrails and added a spur to Hooker Falls, bringing my hike for these THREE waterfalls to approximately 5 miles with 700 feet of elevation gain. 6. High Falls: A massive waterfall cascading down a granite slope. You can enjoy the view from an overlook or take a spur trail toward the base. 7. Triple Falls: Three beautiful cascades dropping a combined 120 feet! You might recognize this one from the first Hunger Games movie. 8. Hooker Falls: At just 12 feet tall, this one is much smaller than the others, but it’s a beautiful, wide waterfall with a large pool below. #pisgahnationalforest #dupontstateforest #lookingglassfalls #graveyardfields #blieridgeparkway
