For a long time, I thought working harder was the answer. So I did. I worked for decades. I raised three daughters. I worked multiple jobs at different points. I changed careers. I took a $10K pay cut because I finally realized protecting my peace and mental health mattered too. And somewhere along the way, I hit my 50s and had to be really honest with myself… I had spent so much of my life surviving and taking care of everyone else that I didn’t have the retirement savings or financial cushion I thought I should have by this point. And that scared me. Because as Gen X women, we were taught to work hard, be responsible, take care of everybody, and eventually everything would work itself out. Except sometimes it doesn’t. So when I found the online-business world, I didn’t have some master plan. I was just a woman in her 50s thinking, Okay… what else can I do? I started learning about digital marketing, affiliate marketing, digital products, UGC and all these different ways people were creating income online. And honestly, I was overwhelmed. That’s why the quiz was such a big deal for me. It helped me stop trying to figure out EVERYTHING and start figuring out what might actually fit ME. I’m still learning. I’m still figuring things out. And I have absolutely no intention of pretending I have it all together. But I know this: If this particular online thing doesn’t work? I’ll figure something else out. Because I’m not going back to the life that almost broke me.
